Graceland Architects named after the famous Paul Simon song, was established in 2010 when Andre van der Merwe relocated the firm to his farm just outside Pretoria.
His talent and foresight set the stage for a series of successful hospital projects, earning us a reputation for quality and innovation in this niche market.
In 2018, Trevor, Kim and Ignatius took the reins. They brought not just architectural expertise but a vision to transform the firm into a finely tuned business.
The year 2020 brought unforeseen challenges, reshaping industries worldwide.
For Graceland Architects, it was a period of introspection and decisive action. The company went through a strategic restructuring, which, while painful, was necessary. Prioritising our staff became paramount – salary adjustments were made thoughtfully, and every effort was made to retain as many positions as possible. This period highlighted the firm’s resilience and commitment to its people, laying the groundwork for a more sustainable future.
