MIDSTREAM

Situated at Midstream Estate, the centrally located modern Mediclinic Midstream is a 176-bed multidisciplinary hospital, which allows for easy access from major highways in the greater Ekurhuleni area.

The hospital was designed and built with ecological considerations as a key priority, with various dynamic features that work to minimise the hospital’s impact on the environment. Drainage was done with separate lines for grey water to be reused. A pneumatic Tube System was incorporated for a fast and safely controlled method of transporting medicine. The hospital design was done with constant focus on infection control and wellness and each and every bed has access to natural light.

In addition to the 6 Laminar Flow Theatres, there is a larger Heart Theatre, a Hybrid Theatre, an Electro Physiology Lab, a Cath Lab as well as an Endoscopy Unit.

The General Critical Care Unit, the Cardiac Critical Care Unit, the Emergency Unit, the Radiology Department, the Surgical and the Orthopaedic Units are all situated on Ground Floor with easy access to the Theatres which are also on the Ground Floor. The Obstetrics, Delivery and Paediatric Units are situated on Lower Ground Floor and the Medical Unit and Endoscopy Unit on First Floor.
