Senior Architectural Technologist – Position Vacancy
We are looking for an experienced, professionally registered Senior Architectural Technologist to join our team in Pretoria. If you’re passionate about architecture, lead with confidence and thrive in both technical execution and creative collaboration, we invite you to explore this opportunity.
About the Role
This full-time position is suited to a motivated and capable professional with 5–10 years’ experience in the field, ideally with a strong background in large-scale healthcare architecture and complex mixed-use developments. You will play a pivotal role in leading teams, driving the technical quality of our work, and representing the firm in both documentation and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Revit-based sketch illustrations aligned with the architect’s brief.
- Prepare and coordinate full council submission documentation (SDP and Building Plans).
- Produce comprehensive working drawings in coordination with other disciplines.
- Conduct site inspections and attend regular quality control and coordination meetings.
- Administer site activities and act as the architect’s representative during construction.
- Mentor and lead team members while contributing to an inclusive, supportive working environment.
- Travel internationally for projects as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Honours or NQF Level 7 or 8) in Architecture.
- 5 – 10 years of post-graduate experience, ideally in the healthcare sector.
- SACAP registration as a Professional Senior Architectural Technologist.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit (certification preferred) and ability to pass a Graceland Architects Revit assessment (minimum 80% required).
- In-depth knowledge of technical detailing, documentation processes and construction techniques.
- Excellent understanding of South African council submission protocols and building regulations.
- Strong grasp of PROCSA and JBCC agreements.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of managing people and processes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and client-facing professionalism.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport.
